N-hard (gas soft nitriding hardening)

A 20μ curing layer can be obtained with a 40-minute treatment! This is a processing method that can reduce operating costs.

"N-Hard (Gas Soft Nitriding)" is a treatment method where gas soft nitriding is performed just above the A1 transformation temperature on the Fe-N phase diagram, followed by rapid cooling to obtain a mixed phase of nitrides and nitrogen martensite. The surface forms an extremely hard layer compared to the nitrided layer, consisting of a mixed phase of nitrides (or carbonitrides) and nitrogen martensite. However, the interior undergoes rapid cooling below the A1 transformation of the Fe-C system, so it does not harden. 【Features】 ■ Thermal treatment distortion (dimensional change) is small, comparable to gas soft nitriding. ■ Hardness of HV800 or higher can be achieved even with low carbon steel, and HV1000 or higher with SK5. ■ Processing time is shorter compared to gas soft nitriding, achieving a hardened layer of 50μm in 90 minutes. ■ Processing time is short, achieving a hardened layer of 20μm in 40 minutes. ■ The finish is good. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Processing Technology] Carburizing Quenching and Carburizing Nitriding Quenching

It is widely applied to various machine parts, including automotive parts and marine parts!

"Carburizing hardening" is a treatment that allows carbon to penetrate and diffuse from the surface of a metal, hardening only the surface. The surface becomes hard and wear-resistant, while the interior maintains lower hardness, providing high toughness and improved fatigue resistance. "Carburizing nitriding" is a treatment that allows both carbon and nitrogen to penetrate and diffuse into the surface of steel, hardening only the surface layer. This improves wear resistance. 【Features】 ■ Carburizing hardening - The surface becomes hard and wear-resistant - The interior maintains lower hardness, providing high toughness - Fatigue resistance can also be improved ■ Carburizing nitriding - A treatment that hardens only the surface layer - Wear resistance is improved *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
